Ordering and shipping:All items are subject to prior sale, so inquire first as to availability. If shipping cost is not stated, provide your address so we can calculate it.
Condition: This equipment comes from flea markets, hamfests and estates, and unless otherwise stated they are complete, appear to be in good condition, but are unused by me. Since such items as electrolytic and paper capacitors degrade with age, and switch contacts may need cleaning, you should assume the equipment needs testing and possible repair before placing in service. Some items may be merely collectible display pieces. All are offered untested and as found unless otherwise stated.
#811CGY Ansonia Wheatstone bridge.
(Click on photo for a larger view.) Ansonia Electric Company, Chicago, Wheatstone bridge. A beautiful cased instrument in a 8-1/2 x 10 x 4-3/4 inch wood box. Ansonia was, I believe, in business from 1885 to 1893 and was present at the World's Fair Columbian Exposition in Chicago 1893.
This appears to be in very good condition. It includes six original shorting pegs. The leather case handle is gone, there is a crack in the case cover, and I do not have the lock key. It is untested, though as you know a Wheatstone bridge is a simple (though impressive in brass) instrument.

A beautiful science and electrical instrument by the Weston Electrical Instrument Co., a model 1 AM-METER. The 6 patent dates on the bottomplate go from 1888 to 1901. The wood base of the meter is about 6 x 6-3/4 inches. The scale says "Weston's direct-reading am-meter" and the scale goes from 0 to 25 (numbered to 24).
The meter is in excellent cosmetic condition with only minor blemishes on its red finish. The case has its original leather handle; it has a sliding opening and one side of the box slide part is missing. The meter is electrically untested. This is a great addition to your meter or science instrument display.

The W.E. test set commonly found is the 35F, in a metal case and with a round meter. The one here is the much earlier 35C in a wooden case and a Weston model 267 milliameter. Inside the wooden cover is a schematic of the unit. The handle and strap are leather. Approximate dimensions 8-1/2 x 11 inches x 6-1/4" high (with cover). Cosmetically it is in good used condition, with a W.E. decal, two Southwestern Bell decals, and "AB TOLL" stencils on the case. Valuable for the parts, but I prefer to offer this early model intact. A vintage "standard cell" by Weston Electrical Instrument Company. The metal nameplate carries 1893 and 1899 dates. It is in a wooden case that measures about 2-1/2 x 4 x 5-1/2" high. A 1939 lab test tag indicates it measured 1.0192 volts; other, perhaps later, tags show slightly lower readings. My Simpson analog meter (which may not be accurate) read 0.9 volts - so there is still some juice in the old girl yet! Very nice cosmetic condition, and a nice addition to your science display shelf.
$45.00 (S&H=$9.00)
A standard cell by The Eppley Laboratory Inc., "low temperature coefficient standard of emf," catalog no. 100, swerial number 540466. The housing is molded Bakelite. The metal nameplate is in fair condition. My analog meter shows 0.95 volts.
