"Collection of Documents and studies published by the Columbian Commission for the fourth centenary from the discovery of America", [published] under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Rome, 189-. Rare, nineteenth century limited edition volumes on Cristoforo Colombo, his life, family, writings, discovery, etc. The text is in Italian. The size of each large volume is 12 x 16 inches (30 x 40 cm). Covers are paper, text is heavy paper, deckle edged. Many if not all of the pages of these volumes are unopened.

Limited edition, 560 copies, Forzani (Edizione di cinquecentosessanta esemplari etc.) Condition: Covers dirty, stained and chipped, spine chipped and faded, large dog-ear at bottom of last 46 pages and rear cover. Part II volume I, Documenti Relativi a C.C. e Alla Sua Famiglia, raccolti da L.T. Belgrano e M. Staglieno, 1896, 320 pages. A different printer (Ferrari) was used for this volume than for the others and there is no indication that the edition was limited. Condition: cover torn and top part missing, spine aged and faded, all else very good. #2CC1 $500. ppd in USA

Part V volume I, 1894, last major portion of the volume consisting of pp 297 - 745 plus index, end charts and tables including fold-outs and back cover. This volume seems to deal with geography and astronomy as known in Columbus' time. Limited edition, 560 copies, Forzani (Edizione di cinquecentosessanta esemplari etc.) Condition: P. 297 spotted and stained, all else very good. #5CC1 $500. ppd in USA
